Solid Waste Department begins "Employee of the Month" program

The Franklin County department of Solid waste, which includes Animal control, has started an employee of the month program to recognize workers who go above an beyond the call of duty.

Landfill director Fonda Davis said workers at the landfill will nominate their co-workers every month based on job productivity, cooperation, appearance and dedication.

The first employee recognized was William Key who works for animal control.

He was chosen for his professionalism and concern during a recent dog-bite situation.

He was given a certificate from Fonda Davis and congratulations from the county commission.
