DOT to hold public workshop to discuss Highway 98 resurfacing

The Florida Department of Transportation will hold a public workshop this week to discuss a resurfacing project for Highway 98 in the city limits.

The project will resurface Highway 98 from the foot of the bridge to 12th street.

The work will include resurfacing the existing travel lanes, auxiliary lanes and parking lanes, performing minor drainage improvements and repairing deficient sidewalks, and non-compliant curb ramps, and building an access ramp.

Modifications to on-street parking are also included in the project.

Work is currently not slated to begin until 2015.

But the Department of Transportation would like to hear from residents about the project and have scheduled a public workshop for Thursday, December the 13th.

The workshop will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Apalachicola Community center at Battery Park.
