Local unemployment up in November


Franklin County unemployment rose slightly in November after three months of falling unemployment.
Local unemployment rose from 6 percent to 6.2 percent; even with the increase Franklin County has the 5th lowest unemployment rate in the state.
344 people were looking for work in Franklin County last month, up from 338 people in October.
Gulf County saw a small drop in unemployment from 8.1 to 8 percent.
481 people were looking for work in Gulf County in November, down from 495 a month earlier.
In Wakulla County the unemployment rate rose from 5.9 to 6.1 percent.
Wakulla County had the 4th lowest unemployment rate in the state in November.
 In Liberty County unemployment rose from 6.2 percent to 6.5 percent.
The Statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.1 percent – down from 8.5 percent in October.
