Telemarketers top complaint list for 2012

Telemarketers topped the list of Florida consumer complaints again in 2012.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said there were over 17000 complaints about telemarketers violating the state’s “Do Not Call” list in 2012.

Another 4100 complaints were about telemarketers in general making it number 2 on the annual complaint list.

Third on the list were complaints about communications companies, while landlord/tenant issues ranked 4th and complaints about sellers of travel rounded out the top 5.

Motor vehicle issues made the top ten list at number six this year followed by credit and banking, real estate, cable TV and Motor vehicle sales.
There were over 50 thousand complaints filed with the Department of Consumer Services in 2012, over 33 thousand of those complaints were successfully closed or resolved.
And by the way, if you would like to make it illegal for telemarketers to call you, you can register online at www.800helpfla.com.

It only costs $10 to register and then a $5 annual renewal fee.

If you would like to lodge a complaint against Florida company, you can do that by calling 1-800-HELP FLA.
