Southeast
On February 13, 2013, the commercial sector for vermilion snapper in the South Atlantic will be closed until the start of the July 1- December 31, 2013 fishing period. This closure is necessary to protect the vermilion snapper resource. 
 
Southwest
 
By March 4, submit your comments on this proposed rule to implement 2013 catch limits, harvest guidelines, and associated annual reference points for Pacific sardines.
The public is invited to comment on the draft 5-Year Strategic Science Plan for the Southwest Fisheries Science Center. 

 
 Alaska 
NOAA Fisheries determines that listing 44 species of cold water corals off Alaska as threatened or endangered does not present substantial information that listing under the Endangered Species Act. 

By March 1, submit your comments on this proposal to establish a process for issuing exemptions from regional delivery requirements in the North or South Region.

Pacific Islands
No lobsters may be commercially harvested in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands in 2013.  

By March 11, submit your comments on the U.S. Navy's request to take marine mammals incidental to training and testing activities in this study area from January 2014 through January 2019.   
 
2013 Annual Catch Limits and Accountability Measures 
By February 15, submit your comments on proposed annual catch limits and accountability measures for western Pacific bottomfish, crustacean, precious coral, and coral reef ecosystem fisheries.
