Governor
Rick Scott this week recognized six district teachers of the year.
The six
winners invited to Monday’s cabinet meeting were from Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Jackson , Madison , and Washington counties.
Among those recognized this week were Port St. Joe Elementary
School teacher Carmel Dodson who helps her students discover their uniqueness and understand how that
develops into their contribution to society.
The governor also recognized Parker Elementary School Science teacher Brandon Mullins, Blountstown High school math teacher Karen Tomlinson and Washington County seventh- and eighth-grade language arts teacher, Melissa Whitson.
The governor also presented the
teachers with special commendations.
