ABC School earns an A grade for second year in a row

School grades were released today and the Apalachicola Bay charter School is once again an “A” school.

It’s the second year in a row the school has received an A, and the 6th time since 2005.

The ABC School was one of 1242 elementary schools statewide to receive an “A” grade this year.

Grades for the Franklin County School have not yet been released – High School and consolidated school grades will be released later this year.

Port St. Joe Elementary School in Gulf County dropped from an A to a B grade this year.

School grades have been issued since 1999 – they are primarily based on the results of the FCAT standardized test that is taken by most Florida students every year.

High-performing schools and those that improve their school grade can receive additional funding, while struggling schools will receive extra help to improve.
