Approved oyster harvesting areas reopen on Wednesday

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will reopen the 2 approved summer harvesting areas of the Apalachicola Bay at sunrise on Wednesday.

The Department will reopen the approved summer shellfish harvesting areas 1621 and 1671 at sunrise Wednesday.

Those areas include East Hole, hotel bar and nick’s hole.

The areas were closed as a precautionary measure on July 24^th after heavy rainfall increased the potential for run-off into the water.
