Florida beaches coming to a Google Map near you

You will soon be able to visit Florida’s beaches without having to leave your house.
Florida's 825 miles of beaches are soon going to be available over Google maps thanks to a cooperative effort between Google and VisitFlorida.
Over the next four-months two-person teams will be walking Florida’s coastline to capture 360-degree images of the state's beaches.
The images they take will be integrated into Google Maps and made available to anyone around the world with Internet access.
The teams will walk about 50 miles of beach each week with a backpack that has a camera system on top.
The camera has 15 lenses, angled in different directions, so it can capture a complete picture of a location which will then be put together into a 360-degree panoramic photo.

The images should be viewable on Google Maps beginning next year.
