July brought plenty of rain to Franklin County

Our area got a lot of rain on July, but we’ve seen more.

According to the National Weather Service, Apalachicola received 12.3 inches of rain last month, making it the 6th wettest July on record.

We’ve received over 16 inches of rain since June the 1st, which makes it the ninth wettest June and July.

We’ll still need about 4.4 inches of rain in August just to make this a normal summer.

Tallahassee, Dothan, and Albany have all already exceeded the normal summer total rainfall accumulations.

July 2013 was the wettest July on record for Dothan, 3rd wettest at Valdosta, 5th wettest at Albany, and 9th wettest at Tallahassee.
