The Northwest Florida Water Management District
will host three informational public workshops this week to present its 2013
Water Supply Assessment Update.
The
District updates the Water Supply Assessment for Northwest Florida every five years.
The
updates are used to evaluate whether the North Florida water supply is adequate
for all existing and future uses and to sustain the water resources and related
natural systems over the next 20 years.
At
these workshops, District staff will present a general overview of the water
supply assessment and planning process and the draft results of the most recent
update to the Water Supply Assessment.
The
public will have an opportunity to ask questions and to comment on the
District’s recommendations.
The
closest workshop to Franklin County will be on October the
30th at 6:30 at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City .
Workshops
will also be held on today in Fort Walton beach and tomorrow in Havana .
The
draft 2013 Water Supply Assessment is posted on-line on the Northwest Florida water Management
District website.
