Blinging up Daisies
Welcome Eddie and Lanay Money and Tanya McClendon with their new Florist business Blinging up Daisies on Market Street in Apalachicola.  Eddie and Tanya are brother and sister and grew up in Apalachicola. Lanay, Eddie’s wife, and Tanya had a floral business in Arkansas where they lived for many years. They decided they wanted to return to Apalachicola opened Blinging Up Daisies in July.  They also sell Sorrelli jewelry, Circle E Candles, and gifts made by local artists.  They are a full service florist that sells flowers, floral arrangements, silk arrangements and wreaths, and plants for all occasions.  They deliver in Apalachicola, St George Island, Eastpoint, Lanark and Carrabelle. Action Auto Glass
Deborah and Steve Kirschenbaum joined the chamber with Action Auto Glass, a sales, service and installation (onsite) auto glass shop.  Action does auto windshields at no cost to the owner with Florida comprehensive or other state glass coverage.  They also repair chipped windshields, windows that will not roll up, window leaks, headlight restoration and lock out service.  Steve has been in the industry for 30 years.  The Kirschbaum’s are from Long Island, New York.  They are located at 207 U S Highway 98 in Eastpoint where the old Jerry’s Lounge used to be.  Law office of Todd Sumner
Todd Sumner joined the chamber in October with his business the Law Office of Todd Sumner.  Todd has practiced environmental and development law for eighteen years. He has a statewide practice that focuses on a wide array of environmental, administrative, land use, energy and natural resource matters.  They advise clients in all aspects of environmental and land development permitting, as well as regulatory compliance, enforcement and transactional due diligence matters for residential, commercial, industrial projects, energy and infrastructure. Daniel Bolinger
Welcome Daniel Bolinger who joined the chamber as an Associate Member.  Daniel, his wife and seven year old son are from New Orleans. They discovered St George Island back in 2000, and fell in love and decided to relocate here this past June.

Oyster Roast
Oyster Roast tickets are almost gone.  Tickets are $55.00 each.  Call or stop by to purchase yours today at the Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce, 122 Commerce Street in Apalachicola (850) 653-9419. This year we will be at across from Riverfront Park in the lot next to the Grady Market in Apalachicola.
Florida Seafood Festival
The 50th annual Florida Seafood Festival takes place November 2nd-3rd, in Battery Park. The fun begins on Friday at 10:00 amwhen the park opens with some great food, arts & crafts, and entertainment. The Blessing of the Fleet takes place at 4:00 pm. This year’s King Retsyo is Vance Millender and the Queen is Morgan Martin. The King Retsyo Ball is back this year.  It will be at 9:00pm at the Armory. Tickets are $25.00. Crooked Shooz will be playing.  Saturday, the Redfish run kicks things off at 8:00 am.  Don’t miss the biggest parade of the year down US 98 at 10:00 am. Battery Park will be buzzing with activity from 10:00 am -11:00 pm. There will be blue crab races, the famous oyster shucking at1:00 pm, the oyster eating contest at 2:00 pm. This year's musical headline act for Saturday night is Kellie Pickler. Admission is freeon Friday and $5 on Saturday (includes concert). For detailed information, go to www.floridaseafoodfestival.com
Any Number Can Die
November 15-17th, the Panhandle Players present Any Number Can Die the Dixie Theatre.  Four ingenious murders take place in an island mansion as a pair of elderly detectives set to work on their first case. Apalachicola Christmas Celebration
The day after Thanksgiving, November 29th, the streets of Apalachicola will be lined with luminaries and filled with holiday spirit. Merchants will be open late and the sounds of carolers will echo through the streets filling the evening with the Christmas spirit. Santa will arrive on a shrimp boat at 4:00 p.m. at the City Dock on Water Street. Saturday, November 30th1:00-3:30 pmSanta has a special day devoted to visiting his furry friends.  There will be a pet costume contest at 3:00 and special treats for dogs. Directors Column

Help your chamber raise a few dollars and you might win something great!  We have two raffles going on that will be drawn at the Florida Seafood Festival.  First, we are raffling off a 50 quart YETI cooler, Tundra model. Tickets are $5.00 each. We also have a 3,000 watt, 13,500 BTU 120V Honda generator, normally retails for $2,329.95, ticket are $10.00 each.  Spread the word and stop by and see us.  

The 10th annual Apalachicola Bay Golf Tournament was held October 9th. We had nine teams and a perfect day.  We would like to thank our sponsors: Centennial Bank, Dodd Title, Preble-RishFairpoint CommunicationsMason Bean C21 Collins Realty, Roberson & Associates, NAI/Talco, Boyd Brothers Printing, Marks Insurance Agency, and Bill Montford and Touch Point Branding/Graphic Solutions. The winning team was Dodd Title with a score of 55, Robbie Johnson, Brett Johnson, Stacy Kirvin and Tyler Poloronis. Second place (56) was 98 Real Estate Group Zach Childs, Matt Terry, Steve Newman and Zach Ferrell. Third Place (59) was Tim Bulter, Travis Sheridan, Johnny Sheridan, Levi Millender with Coastline. Thanks to Donnie Gay Ron Burlison, Nola Tolbert and the staff at St James Bay for planning and putting on the tournament.
