Dec. 6 - St. George Island - Annual island holiday event features “Jingle Jog,” music and refreshments; Santa arrives on a fire truck and island palm trees are ceremoniously lit for the season. Click here for a video promo of the event.

 Dec. 7 - Apalachicola -Features handmade, fresh products, locally-made baked goods and natural creations.

Dec. 7-8 - Port St. Joe and Apalachicola. Featuring Bay Area Choral Society performing Holiday Favorites.

 Dec. 13 - Eastpoint- Old-fashioned parade and social with food, music and Santa!

CARRABELLE HOLIDAY ON THE HARBORDec. 14 - Carrabelle - Beautifully decorated boats line the harbor.You can put your boat in the parade and join in the fun! Great family event!

Carrabelle's Marine Street will be glowing with lightsSaturday, December 14 as the town kicks off the holiday season with its annual Parade of Lights.Carrabelle's downtown River Walk is the place for watching the decked out boat regatta. Stroll with old friends, make some new ones, sip cider and see Santa. Festivities begin at 5 pm with an appearance by Santa and the boat parade begins around 7 pm. The event will also feature food, vendors and music. Watch a promo video of the event here!


Ilse Newell Concert Series Kicks Off WithHoliday Presentations
  The Apalachicola Area Historical Society Kicks off its 2013-2104 Ilse Newell Concert Season Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th with two Holiday concerts by the Bay Area Choral Society. TheDec. 7 concert will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Port St. Joe at 4 p.m. The Dec. 8concert will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Apalachicola at 4 pm.

This year's Ilse Newell Concert Series will also feature a special presentation January 8 by the University of Notre Dame Folk Choir. Click here for details about this and other upcoming Ilse Newell concerts. 


 Count Birds For Christmas
When the eggnog is gone, come outside and join your neighbors for Franklin County's 19th Annual Apalachicola Christmas Bird Count (CBC).  The Apalachicola CBC is scheduled for Friday, December 27.

Areas included in the Apalachicola count include St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge,  Little St. George Island, and the Apalachicola Bay.

Audubon and other organizations use data collected in this longest-running wildlife census to assess the health of bird populations - and to help guide conservation action. For more information on how to register, visit the National Audubon website.


St. George Lighthouse Full Moon Climb
Want to experience the full moon from a different perspective? The St. George Lighthouse will host a full moon climb December 16 from 5:30 - 7 pm.Admission price includes light hors d'oeuvres and a sparkling cider toast to the  Full Moon.
