Planning & Zoning Floodplain Management Workshop
Rescheduled for December 2, 2013
The Apalachicola Planning & Zoning Workshop originally scheduled for Thursday, November 14 has been rescheduled for Monday, December 2 at 6 pm. The rescheduled workshop will be held at the Apalachicola Community Center and will feature an overview of the changes to the City's Floodplain Management ordinance and BFE maps, overview of the City/County Floodplain Management review and permit process, vacant parcel analysis and development requirements, as well as an update on the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012.
You may also review a copy of the flood ordinance and revised FIRM map on file in the City's administrative offices at 1 Avenue E between the hours of 8 - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Northwest Florida Water Management District (NWFMD) has launched a flood zone portal which allows you to plug in your address to see both your current flood zone category and the new proposed zone.
