Florida’s Great Northwest Announces 2014 Officers and Marketing Plan

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Media Contact: Therese Baker (850) 729-6848 office (850) 428-3388 cell tbaker@fgnw.org Florida’s Great Northwest Announces 2014 Officers and Marketing Plan (Northwest Florida) November 18, 2013—Florida’s Great Northwest, the regional economic development organization for the 16-county Florida Panhandle region, announces the following Officers and Executive Committee members for 2014.  The 2014 officers and directors were elected at the organization’s November 15 Board of Directors Meeting. 2014 Florida’s Great Northwest Executive Committee: Ed Gardner, PowerSouth - ChairmanAngela Strickland, Gulf Power – Vice-ChairKim Bodine, Gulf Coast Workforce Board – Secretary/TreasurerJohn Hutchinson, Gulf Power Company – Past Chairman Lewis Bear, The Lewis Bear Company – Sustaining Member Denise Barton, Sacred Heart Health Systems – Sustaining Member Shannon Ogletree, Santa Rosa County ED - Economic Development RepresentativeJeff Stevenson, Gulf Coast State College - Higher Education Representative Rick Bitner, Farm Credit of Northwest Florida – General Member Representative Bruce Vredenburg, Hancock Bank – General Member Representative In other business, elements of the Florida's Great Northwest’s Marketing Plan were revealed. Some of the key areas of focus will be Site Consultant, Enterprise Florida, and Industry Outreach. While the Industry Outreach will be allocated across several target industries including Manufacturing, Construction Services, Logistics, and Technology, most of the emphasis will be focused on the Aerospace and Defense target. The final event for 2013 will be the Global Aerospace Supply Chain Conference in Hamburg, Germany – Dec. 4-5, 2013. In conjunction with Gulf Power Company, PowerSouth Energy Cooperative and the Gulf Coast Aerospace Coalition, FGNW will be the Location Sponsor for the conference, allowing for a variety of networking and promotional opportunities, as well as individual company appointments around the event. ### Florida’s Great Northwest is the regional economic development organization representing the 16 counties in the Florida Panhandle: Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Liberty, Leon, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington.  The mission of Florida’s Great Northwest is “to market and brand the 16-county Northwest Florida region as a globally competitive location for business and to work with regional partners to recruit new jobs and investment throughout Northwest Florida.”
