Franklin County Commission meets Tuesday (agenda attached)

County commissioners will choose their chairperson and vice chairperson for the next year when they meet tomorrow morning in Apalachicola.

The current chairperson is Cheryl Sanders, vice chair is William Massey.

The county commission tends to change leadership every year so each commissioner gets a chance to serve.

The county will also consider a new appointment to the county’s Tourist Development Council on Tuesday.

The TDC is recommending that Walter Armistead fill the seat of retiring member Alice Collins.

County commissioners will also hold a workshop on Tuesday with the Weems memorial Hospital advisory Board to discuss improvements at the hospital and the board will consider a number of recommendations from the county’s planning and zoning commission and board of adjustment.

County Commission meetings are open to the public – tomorrow’s meeting begins at 9 AM at the Franklin County Courthouse in Apalachicola.
