Governor Rick Scott issued the reinstatement on
Thursday after a Liberty County jury found the sheriff not guilty
on charges of official misconduct.
Sheriff finch was charged in June with destroying
or altering official arrest documents from the Liberty County Jail, making it appear as though an
arrest never occurred.
He was accused of
illegally acting on behalf of a Liberty County man arrested on a concealed weapons charge.
The sheriff said
he took the actions because of his support for second amendment rights.
A jury was chosen
in the case on Monday, the jury consists of two men and 6 women.
The jury
deliberated for about an hour Thursday before issuing the not guilty verdict.
