County commissioners have asked the health department to waive the fees
it would normally charge to provide physicals for local volunteer firefighters.
County administrator Alan Pierce said new insurance rules require each
volunteer fireman to get a physical.
The health Department will provide the service and would normally charge
80 dollars each.
They are willing to waive the fee as long as the county requests it.
Commissioners were happy to make the request – they said that the fire
departments do a great job and the county should help them any way they can.
