The U.S. Forest Service is opening up a new
recreational area in the Apalachicola National Forest .
The grand opening of the Springhill Motorcycle Trailhead, a
new recreation area in Leon County will be held on Saturday, December the
7th.
The new facility is a dedicated trailhead for the
motorcycle trails on the Apalachicola National Forest and is located a short distance from Tallahassee on Springhill Road .
Forest Service engineers designed the recreation area to
include spacious parking for visitors with trailers to offload motorcycles.
The grand opening will begin with a short ribbon
cutting ceremony starting at 10:00 a.m - Tallahassee Trail Riders will also
demonstrate their motorcycle skills for the public.
Trail specialists from the U.S. Forest Service will be on
hand to answer questions about trail riding.
The Apalachicola National Forest has approximately 111 miles of trails for
motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and other off-highway vehicles.
