County
commissioners agreed this week to provide Duke Energy an easement so they can
provide electricity to the security light at the Eastpoint Boat ramp.
The
security light has been solar powered, but commissioners complained in the past
that the light doesn’t work very well, and it would be too expensive to repair.
It
will require Duke to install one pole – but they couldn’t do the work without
the county approving the easement.
Commissioners
are also discussing adding additional lights at other county owned boat ramps,
including the Abercrombie ramp, but have not yet made a final decision on which
ramps will be done.
