The
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is continuing to crack down
on the harvest of undersized oysters.
During
December, FWC
officers were diligent about patrolling and locating individuals harvesting
undersized oysters in the Apalachicola
Bay .
Officers
made several undersized cases.
Some
of the percentages for the undersized oysters were as high as 90 percent.
Many oystermen say it is
virtually impossible to find enough legal sized oyster on the winter bars to
make a living.
