Now is the time to apply for your homestead exemption (corrected)


If you are a homeowner in Franklin County – make sure to apply for your homestead exemption.

You can apply for a homestead exemption of up to 50 thousand dollars on your primary residence.

Some senior citizens can also qualify for an additional up to 50 thousand dollar exemption if they are 65 years old or over and already qualify for a homestead exemption and have an total house hold adjusted gross income of less than 27,590 dollars.

You can apply at the Property Appraisers Office at the Franklin county courthouse in Apalachicola or at the Courthouse Annex on Highway 98 in Carrabelle.

If this year will be your first time applying for a homestead exemption you will need your social security number, Florida Drivers licenses, Florida vehicle registrations, current utility bill at homestead address in applicants name, proof of home ownership, school location of dependent children.

If you are a registered voter, you must vote in Franklin County. Both signatures are required for married couples.
