With
temperatures dropping down below freezing again tonight, the Franklin County Emergency Management
office along with the United Firefighters of Franklin County , would like to remind you
to use caution when using any type of heating source in your home.
Charcoal
or other fuel-burning devices that produce carbon monoxide should never be used
indoors. Make sure if you are using a space heater that you don’t leave it unattended and keep it a safe distance from any flammable material.
Watch how many appliances you plug in so you don’t overload your circuits, and most importantly make sure you have smoke alarms and a carbon monoxide detector installed and that all of them are working properly.
