Florida agrees to cut vehicle registration fees

It will soon cost a little less to register your vehicle in Florida.

Beginning September the 1^st registration costs will be reduced by about 25 dollars for heavy weight vehicles.

The price will drop by about 21.50 for middle weight vehicles, and $18.50 for light weight vehicles.

The governors office said the fee reductions will save Floridians about 400 million dollars a year.

If you have to register a vehicle before September the 1^st, the department of highway safety and motor vehicles recommends registering for one year instead of opting for the two-year renewal to take advantage of the lower fees next year.
