The Florida Fish and
Wildlife Conservation Commission is meeting this week at the Florida Public Safety
Institute in Havana .
This year’s red snapper
season will be up for discussion.
The topic will be of
great interest to recreational snapper fishermen who just learned the federal
snapper season will likely be 11 days long.
The FWC
will also consider a proposal for a Gulf reef-fish data reporting system and a
proposal to combat the nonnative lionfish.
Hunting issues include a final rule amendment
on the deer management units in Zone D in the western Florida Panhandle and draft
amendments to alligator management.
We’ve posted a link to the full FWC
agenda at oysterradio.com and on the oyster radio facebook page.
