The
Department of Agriculture will close oyster harvesting area 1612 of the Apalachicola bay at sunset today.
Area 1612 in the
conditionally approved Winter West Shellfish Harvest Area.
The area will be reopened
when sampling shows the water quality is acceptable for harvesting.

status updates on the internet at www.FloridaAquaculture.com under the shellfish harvesting
tab.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is
temporarily closing the following shellfish area at sunset onSunday May
18th, 2014 for the harvest of oysters, clams, and mussels. In this
context, shellfish does not include scallops, shrimp, or crabs.
