Franklin County unemployment fell in April

Franklin County’s unemployment dropped for the third month in a row in April.
Local unemployment fell from 5.8 percent to 5.3 percent.
283 people were looking for work in Franklin County in April, down from 304 the month before while the workforce increased by 116 people.
Twenty-three counties had lower unemployment rates than Franklin County last month.
Gulf County unemployment fell substantially from 6.6 percent to 5.8 percent.
357 people were looking for work in Gulf County last month, down from 407 the month before.
In Wakulla County the unemployment fell from 5.3 to 4.7 percent.
Liberty County unemployment fell from 5.1 to 4.7 percent.
Overall, the statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate ticked down to 6.2 percent in April.
