Two men arrested in string of home and vehicle burglaries

                Franklin County sheriff’s officials have arrested two men for a string of home and car burglaries that included tens of thousands of dollars worth of stolen items.

Deputies arrested Darin Cruson of Lanark Village and Aaron Massey of Carrabelle.

The two are suspected of taking part in at least 15 home and vehicle burglaries between April 21st and May the 6th.

They were caught during a traffic stop when a deputy sheriff's recovered a camera that had been stolen from the Alligator Point area.

The investigation led detectives to two separate apartments in Lanark Village where they recovered stolen firearms, fishing equipment, jewelry and electronics.

In all sheriff’s officials were able to recover 7 stolen firearms, approximately $60,000.00 worth of jewelry, $10,000.00 worth of electronics and approximately $5000.00 worth of fishing equipment.

Crusin and Massey have been charged with numerous counts of Burglary While Armed, Burglary of a Dwelling, Burglary of a Conveyance, Grand Theft Firearm and Grand Theft over $300.00.

The Sheriff's Office would like to remind the citizens to lock your home and vehicle doors at night and during the day when you're not around.
