Camp reef now in 60 feet of water off Franklin County

A series of new artificial reefs are now fully deployed off the Franklin county Coast.

Last week the Organization for Artificial reefs placed a number of 15 foot tall pre-fabricated super-reef structures in the Carrabelle 10 Mile Reef System.

The new reef structure will be called “Camp Reef.;” It sits in about 60 feet of water.

The Camp family from Tallahassee purchased the three “Super Reefs” in memory of their son Dixon Camp.

8 additional reef units were purchased by the Redding family and added to the popular “Robby’s Reef” about two tenths of a mile North of Camp Reef.

The groups also deployed 30 smaller 8’ Limestone reef forms under a grant by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in the same area

We’ve posted the coordinates for the new reef on this story at oysterradio.com and on the oyster radio facebook page.

You can also see a video of some of the deployment at the oyster radio facebook page.

Pre-deploy coords all have 84 30.000 as longitude.  The lats are as follows:

Camp 1
29 39.169

Camp 2
29 39.229

Camp 3
29 39.390
