There is a boil water notice in effect for
Eastpoint residents today.
The Eastpoint Water and Sewer Department
said water main on Franklin Street
was broken by a road crew Monday morning and that reduced pressure in the
system.
When the pressure falls to a certain point
it requires a boil water notice until the water can be tested for bacteria.
Any water used for drinking or cooking should be brought to a rolling boil for one
minute.
The precautionary boil water notice
will remain in effect until the tests on water samples show the water is safe
to drink.
The water department said they hope water
sample results will be returned on Wednesday.
If you have any questions, you call the
Eastpoint Water and Sewer District at 670-8177.
