Swimming advisories lifted in Franklin and Wakulla counties

Swimming advisories have been lifted for Alligator Point in Franklin County and Mash’s Island in Wakulla County.

The advisories were issued on May the 13th after water testing indicated bacteria levels that exceed state requirements.

They were lifted on May 28th.

At this time there are no advisories in effect for either Franklin or Wakulla Counties.


The Department of Health currently tests beach water quality bi-weekly at 5 locations in Franklin County, 7 in Gulf County and 2 in Wakulla County
