Duck Derby raises thousands for Sacred heart Volunteer Guild

Sacred Heart says their second Annual Duck Derby benefiting the Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf Volunteer Guild was a huge success.

The duck derby was held during the annual Scallop Festival on September the 13th.

A total of 1,463 ducks raced across the Lagoon at George Core Park during the festival.

The winning rubber duck belonged to Lisa Chrastina, who was awarded with an Apple iPad Air.

More than 30 other duck “adopters” won prizes, once the flock made it across the finish line.

The vent raised more than 4000 dollars which will help support community health services through Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf.

The group is thanking all of its sponsors and supporters – you can see a list of names at Oysterradio.com and on the Oyster Radio facebook page.
