If you would like to go bird watching along the panhandle section of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail there’s now an e-book to help guide you through it.
The Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail is a 2,000-mile, self-guided highway trail that connects and unifies 515 birding and wildlife viewing sites throughout Florida.
There are 78 different viewing sites across the 16 counties in the panhandle, from the Perdido River on the Alabama border to the Aucilla River in Jefferson County
The trail includes 16 sites in Franklin, Gulf and Wakulla Counties.
Some of the local viewing sites include the St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge, the State Park on St. George Island, and numerous sites in the Tate’s Hell State Forest.
The new electronic Guide booklet contains site descriptions, directions, and maps showcasing the birding and wildlife watching opportunities in Florida.
This guide will direct you to viewing locations where you can encounter birds and wildlife such as the Mississippi Kite, the White-breasted Nuthatch, the Kentucky Warbler, Bald Eagles, Florida Black Bears, and West Indian Manatee.

The guide is optimized for Kindle Fire but can also be used on other mobile devices including Apple and Android using the Kindle Reader App.
