St. George Island Home Tour Feb. 14
The St. George Island Tour of Homes will be held Feb. 14, 2015. The tour features distinctive homes from beach to bay. Watch a video tour here. Exploring Color from Cool to Warm with Natalia Andreeva

This workshop is designed to get a feeling for light and color and to get some hands on experience with a palette. Click here for more information. Machine Piecing a Traditional Quilt Block February 25, 9-4pm. This workshop will teach no-template piecing techniques to make a three block table runner or wall art. At the end of this one day class the top should be finished and ready to be quilted at another time. See it, Say it, Paint it with Katie Dobson Cundif March 9-12, 9-4pm. Learn to paint faster, looser, and more confidently in this four day workshop while learning to accurately see larger abstract shapes, values, and color. Daily Demos-Discussions-Individual Painting Time-One on One Critiques. Painting the Head in Oil with Dawn Whitelaw March 15-18, 9-4pm. In this 4 day workshop, Dawn will be teaching basic principals of portraiture. This class will include lecture, power point presentations, demonstration, and critiques. There will be lots of individual help at easels as the student starts three portrait studies.

Authors In ApalachMarch 13-14The Apalachicola Muncipal Library will host the 2015Authors in Apalach eventMarch 13-14 at the Apalachicola Center for History, Culture and Art. This year’s event theme is “Contemporary Women Writers of the South” and will feature celebrated authors Janis Owens, author of classic Southern Fiction and the “Cracker Kitchen” and River Jordan, playwright, memorist and radio personality. Also featured will be Joyce LaFray, cookbook and food author, Susan Cerulean, environmental writer from Tallahassee; Faith Eidse, Tallahassee teacher, author of “Voices of the Apalachicola”, Mary Jane Ryals, Poet Laureate of the Big Bend (2009-2012); Memoirist Kimberly Cross Teter, first time author of “Isabella's Libretto” and Adrian Fogelin, Tallahassee author of "Crossing Jordan." SGI Charity Chili Cookoff March 7St. George Island will host its annual Charity Chili Cookoff and Auction March 6. Activities include a golf tournament, 5K Red Pepper Run, Chili Cook-off, Auction and the naming of Miss Chili Pepper and Mr. Hot Sauce. African American History Festival
Feb. 20-22
H'COLA's 12th Annual African-American History Festival will be held Feb. 20-22, 2015. This event is a celebration of African-American history, life, music and culture. This outdoor, family-oriented event is filled with varied artists and entertainers, children "activities, arts, history, education, health & wellness and more." There will be live entertainment throughout the two day event. Admission is always free. The event is held in Apalachicola at Franklin Square 6th Street between Avenues L&M. Mardi Gras Feb. 14
Join in on the Franklin County Mardi Gras Festivities on February 14 as the Franklin County Habitat for Humanity hosts its annual Mardi Gras benefit celebration in Apalachicola. The group will host a Mardi Gras Dinner and Ball onSaturday, Feb. 14 at 6:30 pm. The group will also host a paradeFriday evening (Feb. 13) before the ball. Panhandle Players Perform Death by Design
The Panhandle Players will present Death by Design over two weekends in Franklin and Gulf Counties. See the show at February 13th - 15th at the Eastpoint Firehouse. Lighthouse Climb
The St. George Lighthouse will host a full moon climb Feb. 3from 6-7:30 pm. The March Full Moon Climb date is March 5. Climb to the top of the Cape St. George Light to watch the sunset and the rise of the full moon. The Sunset/Full Moon Climb includes light hors d'oeuvres and a sparkling cider toast to the full moon. Apalachicola ArtwalkMarch 21 Art in all forms will be woven in and around picturesque downtown Apalachicola onMarch 21 during the annual artwalk event where artists and musicians will be showing, selling, and demonstrating their talents from 11:00-6:00 pm.
