Area 1612 of
the Apalachicola bay will reopen to oyster harvesting on Saturday morning.
Area 1612 is the conditionally approved Winter West Shellfish Harvest Area – it was closed about a
week ago because of high river levels.
The department of Agriculture says water sample testing show the site meets the standards to be
re-opened to oyster harvesting.
