The Florida Fish and Wildlife
Conservation Commission is considering some changes to Florida’s black bear
management program and have scheduled two webinars this month to get public
input on the plans.
The FWC is considering amendments
to bear feeding and conservation rules as well as the possibility of having a bear
hunt in the fall of 2015.
The changes are being proposed
after a number of bear attacks in the state including one in Eastpoint in
December.
If you would like to learn more
or comment on the proposed rule changes, you can register for one of the
webinars on either March the 23rd or the 26th.
The FWC said the webinars will
give them a chance to reach out to more members of the public than with
traditional public meetings and give the public the opportunity to learn more
about Florida’s bear management program, offer up their comments and ask
questions.
You can sign up online at
myfwc.com/bear.
You can also find the agenda and
workshop information at that site.
