Sea Turtle Release Today on St. George Island and at Cape San Blas

Not one location but two locations

The release will today at 12:00pm EST in St. George Island State Park and the second location will be at 11am EST at Cape Palms Park in Cape San Blas about half way on the peninsula.
Gulf World Marine Park will be releasing a total of 20 sea turtles tomorrow. These turtles are from two separate events one being the Kemps Ridley’s from the mass cold stun event in New England and the second is from our local St Joe Bay area.

On February 20th Gulf World received 12 cold stun turtles for rehabilitation from St. Joe Bay. That increased the total number of animals in rehabilitation to over 25. This included the Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles that Gulf World received from New England area at the end of last year. Due to the hard work and dedication of volunteers, animal care staff, and veterinarians these sea turtles have been successfully rehabilitated and have been medically cleared to be released into the Gulf of Mexico.
