Two arrests made in Crawfordville methamphetamine case

The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested two Crawfordville residents in connection with an active methamphetamine cooking operation on Thursday, March 19, according to Sheriff Charlie Creel.

Christopher Daniel Carver, 35, and Hollie Elizabeth Stephens, 21, were arrested for manufacture of methamphetamine at their home on Stephens Donaldson Road off Spring Creek Highway.
The WCSO received a complaint of a property dispute and shots being fired in the area. Deputies responded to the scene and detected a strong chemical odor associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine. Materials used to produce the meth were observed inside the home and deputies were led by Carver to a meth cook bottle in the kitchen which contained active chemicals inside.

After the narcotics unit disabled the chemicals and made them safe for storage, deputies discovered other components inside the home that are necessary to the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Deputies seized a .22 caliber rifle inside the home that had been shot off by Stephens from the patio during a dispute with a neighbor and placed it into evidence. Additional charges involving the firearm are pending.

Carver was booked at 5:23 p.m. and posted a $10,000 bond at 11:20 p.m. and was released from the Wakulla County Jail. Stephens was booked at 7:18 p.m. and posted a $10,000 bond and was released from jail at 11:10 p.m.
