Local unemployment fell in March

Unemployment in Franklin County fell from 5.3 to 4.7 percent in March giving us one of the lowest unemployment rates in Florida.
Labor statistics released last week show 228 people looking for work in Franklin County in March; 28 fewer than in February.
The workforce also decreased by 9 people.
Five counties had lower unemployment rates than Franklin County in March.
Unemployment in Gulf County fell from 5.5 to 5.1 percent.
317 people were looking for work in Gulf County in March down from 338 in February.
Wakulla County continues to have one of the lowest unemployment rates in Florida at 4.6 percent - in Liberty County unemployment was unchanged at 5.8 percent.
