The Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve is looking for volunteers to help us in our Nature Center. The Nature Center is an educational venue highlighted by three very large aquariums reflected by a hand-painted wall mural that details flora and fauna of the Apalachicola watershed from the forested uplands through the bay to the gulf. The Nature Center also has an interactive discovery center with many fossils, a large shell collection, microscopes, cultural exhibits and a gift shop.
We are looking for volunteers to greet visitors, answer general questions and ring up purchases in the gift shop. No previous experience required. There are two three-hour shifts per day, Tuesday-Saturday. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at (850) 670-7711.
