Franklin County now owns the El’s Court property east of Carrabelle

Franklin County now owns the El’s Court property east of Carrabelle.

The County worked with the Trust for Public Lands to purchase the three parcels from Capital city Bank.

The county will now work with the state to reforest the property with coastal oak trees so it will remain in an open, undeveloped state.

The board bought the land to provide more water access to residents and visitors.

The cost of the land was 722 thousand dollars of which the county paid about 125 thousand – the rest was covered by a grant.
