National Estuaries Day is a way to draw attention to the important estuary systems in the country.
There will be celebrations at all 28 National Estuarine Research Reserves around the country, including the three in Florida.
The local reserve will have plenty of activities for all ages including touch tanks, games and learning activities, scavenger hunts and more.
There will also be live reptile presentations on and demonstrations of blue crabs molting their shells.
There’s free t-shirts for the first 600 people to show up and door prize drawings at the end of the day.
Estuaries Day will be held from 1:30 to 6 on Friday at the research reserve nature center at 108 Island Drive in Eastpoint.
If you have questions call the Reserve at 670-7700.
