A resurfacing project on Highway 98
in Apalachicola begins today and will impact traffic for weeks.
Roberts
and Roberts Incorporated will begin a road project today that will resurface
Highway 98 from the foot of the Apalachicola Bridge to 12th street.
Lane
closures begin today – work will be done during daylight hours
from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. .
The
project includes resurfacing the existing travel lanes, auxiliary lanes
and parking lanes, performing minor drainage improvements and repairing
deficient sidewalks and non-compliant curb ramps.
Modifications
to on-street parking are also included in the project.
The
740 thousand dollar project is expected to take 90 days to complete.
Drivers
are reminded to look out for workers and to watch out for flag persons
directing traffic.
And
remember to expect minor traffic delays while the work is ongoing.
