There are now 9 applicants for the vacant District 1 county commission seat

            There are now 9 applicants for the District 1 seat on the Franklin county commission.
The seat was vacated by Republican Pinki Jackel on August 21st after she was named to serve as Franklin County’s Supervisor of Elections.
Mrs. Jackel’s replacement will be named by Governor Rick Scott.
So far nine people have applied for the seat.
Applicants include Steve Lanier, Hank Kozlowsky, Ricky Jones, Bob Allen and Lynn Martina from Eastpoint.
Rick Watson, Wynn Hale, Robert Reid and Catherine Korfanty from St. George Island have also applied for the job.
At this time Mrs. Korfanty is the lone Democrat among the list of applicants.
If you live in District 1 and are interested in being considered for the job, you can throw your name in the mix.
