Today is election day in Apalachicola and Carrabelle

Today is Election Day in the Cities of Apalachicola and Carrabelle so make sure to get out and vote.

Both cities are electing a mayor as well as city commissioners.

Carrabelle voters will have three races to decide.

City Commissioner Brenda La Paz is facing Joe Ham in the race for Mayor.

There are also 5 candidates seeking 2 seats on the city commission.

They include Mel Kelly, Frank Mathes, Chester Reese, Gene Spivey and Keith Walden.

Apalachicola has two races to decide.

Current mayor Van Johnson is seeking re-election, he faces Gregory P. Wynot in that race.

City Commissioner Jimmy Elliot is also seeking re-election, he will face Charles Kienzle in the race for city commission seat 2.

Polling stations are open till 7 PM.
