Lane closures in Big Bend Area
Chipley, FL - The following construction activities are taking place on state roads in the Big Bend Area:
- The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will decrease the speed limit on State Road (S.R.) 30 (U.S. 98) from Kenneth Cope Avenue to the eastern city limits in Carrabelle. On Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 9 a.m. EDT, FDOT sign crews will erect new speed limit signs, lowering the speed on from 55 MPH to 45 MPH.
- Lane closures will occur on Interstate 10 (I-10) in Leon County Monday, Oct. 12 through Thursday, Oct. 15 to allow the contractor to remove bridge materials and equipment. The westbound inside travel lane will be closed near mile marker 193 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Routine bridge maintenance work will take place on the S.R. 57 (U.S. 19) CSX Railroad Bridge in Jefferson County, Monday, Oct. 12. The northbound inside lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Drivers traveling U.S. 319 (Crawfordville Road) in Wakulla County will encounter temporary lane closures, Monday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A FDOT pavement survey crew will perform tests on U.S. 319 between New Light Church Road and the Leon County line and one-half mile south of S.R. 267 (Bloxham Cut Off).
- Crews will perform a pavement test on S.R. 30 (U.S. 98) Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This moving operation will take place in Wakulla County from the Franklin County line to S.R. 369.
All construction activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to pay attention and use caution when driving through the work zone.
