The Apalachicola
Riverkeeper will kick off its annual trek down the river from Chattahoochee to
the Apalachicola Bay on Tuesday.
The 8th annual RiverTrek includes 20 participants who will either
paddle the 107 mile length of the river or bike their way down.
The program is designed to raise resources and awareness for the
protection of the river.
The trek
will take five days to complete.
The journey will begin Tuesday just below the Jim Woodruff Dam in
Chattahoochee and end on Saturday at Riverfront Park in Apalachicola.
The trekkers
are not only raising awareness, but also raising money to support the
Apalachicola Riverkeeper group.
If you
would like to help the cause, you can find out about each participant and
donate by going on-line to apalachicolariverkeeper.org/rivertrek.
