A new Historic Apalachicola Main Street event, the Autos & Oysters Classic Car Show, debuts this weekend! It includes a sock hop on the City Docks on Friday night featuring local refreshments, music,and oysters, and a fabulous car show on Saturday.

The sock hop this Friday, November 13 is free and open to the public. The event will be held at Riverfront Park on Water Street, starting at 5 p.m.
Apalachicola Mayor Van Johnson, Sr. will be the DJ, spinning your favorite tunes from the 50s and 60s while the crowd dances on the docks!
Dress for the era or come as you are! Fresh oysters, a world-renowned Apalachicola specialty, will be available, served by 13 Mile Seafood. Locally brewed refreshments from the award-winning Oyster City Brewery will also be available.

The car show will be held on Saturday, November 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free to the public.
Expect to see Porsche, Triumph, MG, Alfa Romeo, Rolls Royce, Mustang, Camaro, Mopar, Mercedes, and many more on display. The show will be held on Water Street.
Oyster Radio will be doing a live broadcast from 10 a.m. to noon. Tune in to 100.5 FM!
The Judging Team will be led by J. C. O’Steen of Tallahassee. For the past 40 years, J. C. has been involved in award-winning restorations of a wide range of cars. He also has judged extensively at major national and international shows such as the Classic Car Club of America; National Corvette Restorers Society (highest Judging level attainable); and Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance and Motoring Festival. Mr. O’Steen has taught at judging schools on numerous occasions and owns a private collection of vintage cars and motorcycles.
To enter your car in the show, registration will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and the cost is $20.

Awards will be given for the Top 50, Sponsor's Choice (presented by Bess Grasswick of Tallahassee Magazine), Greatest Club Participation (presented by Apalachicola Mayor Van Johnson), and Greatest Distance Travelled to Attend the Show (presented by Curt Blair of the Franklin County Tourist Development Council).
Special thanks to local artist Barb Ward of our Promotions Committee, who added an Apalachicola touch to each of our Top 50 award plaques. The oyster shell and faux pearl make these awards truly unique!
All awards feature our gorgeous logo designed by Cindy Clark of Bay Media.
