Franklin County Commission meets Tuesday in Apalachicola

The Franklin County Commission will learn more about the RESTORE ACT program when it meets tomorrow in Apalachicola.
The RESTORE ACT was created to help communities along the Gulf Coast rebuild after the 2010 BP oil spill.
Millions of dollars in RESTORE money could be available to Franklin County beginning next year – and even more will become available after all of the fines have been levied and collected from BP.
The county has hired a firm called Dewberry to help create a multi-year plan for local projects.
Dewberry will give a presentation to the county commission Tuesday to discuss the program in more detail.
Other items on Tuesday’s county commission agenda include a meeting with the sheriff’s department to discuss its radio system.
The county will also open bids from companies interested in paving Timber Island Road and repairing Timber Island bride and they will hear from Kim Bodine from career Source.
You can see the full agenda on-line at oysterradio.com.

The county commission will meet at 9 tomorrow morning at the Franklin county courthouse Annex in Apalachicola.
