Franklin County extends lease for Supervisor of Elections office in return for building repairs

The Franklin county Supervisor of elections office will soon get some needed repairs.
The county rents the building that houses the Supervisor of Elections office – it used to serve as the local office for Progress Energy.
The county pays about 2000 dollars a month for the space.
Last week the board agreed to extend the lease for another 5 years and the landlord agreed to fix the place up.
The renovations will include new laminate flooring, new fixtures in the women’s restroom and a new toilet in the men’s room, and new ceiling tiles.

The glass doors and the drive through window will also be tinted and an area that was once a kitchen will be renovated with additional shelving and new cabinets.
